Class Structure
The Little Farm School(Ages 3-6)
At The Little Farm School, children ages 3 to 6 explore, create, and learn at their own pace within a nurturing environment inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia, emergent, and nature-based education models.
This program encourages young children to engage with the natural world, fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through hands-on activities in our garden and on our farm.

Our youngest learners benefit from the support and collaboration with the whole Silvermist community, as they often join the Big Kids in collaborative gardening, play, nature exploration, and sand pit sessions.
This connection allows them to learn from older students and observe the process of nurturing and cooperation firsthand, giving them a sense of belonging and community. Through interactive projects and supportive guidance, Sprouts build confidence, early literacy, and social skills as they interact and grow alongside their older peers.
Together we learn that each member plays a unique and valuable role in sustaining our learning community.
Primary Flexi Schooling Program (Ages 7-12)
The Primary Flexi Schooling Program offers homeschooled students aged 7-12 the chance to join Silvermist’s community for collaborative learning and hands-on activities.
This flexible option provides primary students with the opportunity to participate in enriching activities—like gardening, woodwork, drumming, and business skills—while maintaining the flexibility of their home-based curriculum.

In the Primary Program, students often work alongside both younger and older peers, learning the importance of community, mentorship, and shared responsibility. They frequently engage with the Littlelies in activities like gardening, where they act as role models, guiding younger students in planting, harvesting, and caring for the environment. Meanwhile, they also benefit from the expertise and mentorship of the Teen group, who might lead workshops in woodwork, entrepreneurship, or creative arts. These cross-age interactions foster a deep sense of connection, empathy, and mutual respect among students of all ages, while reinforcing the essential skills of teamwork and leadership.
Primary students thrive in this collaborative learning space, growing in confidence as they experience the joy of helping others learn while solidifying their own understanding. Whether they’re building Bug Hotels, shelters, creating art, or brainstorming best places to take their Worldschooling friends, Primary students see that learning is enriched through community.

Teen Program: Flexi and Full Support Options (Ages 13+)
Our Teen Program, open to students aged 13 and older, provides two flexible paths:
Flexi Schooling and Full Support.
The Flexi option allows teens to engage in collaborative projects and skill-building activities, while the Full Support program includes curriculum management, individualized coaching, and guided project-based learning.
Through both paths, teens play a crucial role within the Silvermist community, developing skills for adulthood and learning the value of mentorship as they guide and support younger students.

Teens in both Flexi and Full Support options take on leadership roles, guiding collaborative projects and workshops for younger students. This could mean assisting in the building projects, workshops, or hosting gardening activities, they gain valuable experience in mentoring, organization, and teamwork. These leadership opportunities allow our older learners to deepen their own skills while providing valuable guidance to younger members of the Silvermist community.
For teens in the Full Support program, this leadership extends to goal-setting and self-assessment in collaborative planning sessions each Monday, with follow-up 1:1 coaching on Fridays. Through these interactions, they set an example of responsibility and self-direction for the entire learning community. With access to online learning platforms, a co-working space, and the chance to develop and manage their own businesses, teens at Silvermist not only build practical skills but learn that true learning is strengthened through giving back, building a sense of unity, and fostering growth for everyone in their community.
